[CONCEPT] SectorsLearn everything about virtual world sectors.

The territories

Technical characteristics

Construction

The 5 sectors of Lyoko are configurable and buildable using the virtual constructor. The codes allowing their configuration can be found in the "Lyoko Build Codes" and "Passage Towers Info" windows. Consult the tutorial "Building Territories" for more information on the creation of Lyoko territory. In the case of replikas, their main sector is built automatically when virtual worlds are created.

Destruction

Depending on their category, territories can be destroyed in two different ways:

Surface Territory

The surface territories are destructible via a program that only Aelita can launch from the second floor of a way tower. You can voluntarily start destroying a surface sector just like XANA if the latter controls the girl. These sectors will also be destroyed if the virtual world is destroyed.

Main Territory

The main territory of a virtual world is destroyed only if the virtual world of the virtual world is also destroyed.

Type of territory

There are 5 different types of sectors. Each type has its own logo and ID (between 0 and 4).

5th Territory - 0

The type territories 5th Territory are the only ones to be in the form of a sphere, whose shape is reminiscent of the shell of a virtual world. This hollow sphere has the Celestial Vault as its inner core and contains another smaller sphere, the core zone. It is inside the latter that the various rooms (Arena, GaragesKid,…) and virtual objects (tower, heart, elevator, etc.) specific to this sector will be located. From a typographical point of view, it is mainly composed of a complex assembly of blue blocks forming a structure that can be adjusted at will, perfect for the generation of random mazes…

Mountain - 1

Composed mainly of small winding trails, mountain sectors stand out for their platforms playing on verticality. The towers and shrubs found on this type of territory are lost in a light mist enveloping the entire territory. Finally, this type of sector also has numerous small, scattered islands, composed only of mountains.

Desert - 2

Desert sectors are formed by large flat platforms dotted with rocks of various shapes and sizes. Rare waterholes comparable to virtual oases bring vegetation to these arid lands where only sand reigns supreme. Stone cavities sometimes containing towers also bring relief to this type of sector.

Forest - 3

As their name indicates, Forest type territories are true virtual forests formed by a large number of trees floating above the Digital Sea. Between them, paths wind their way, which generally lead to medium-sized platforms where the towers of the sector are located. These plateaus may occasionally contain small ponds or be connected by suspension bridges.

Ice - 4

Ice sectors have numerous glaciers located on large ice shelves, which are themselves connected by small trails. These glaciers have numerous caves that can house towers, lakes or paths to cross them. Water is of course at the heart of this type of sector with numerous waterfalls and huge lakes overlooked by ice bridges allowing you to cross them.

Territory Category

There are 2 different territory categories.

Surface Territory

Lyoko is the only virtual world to have surface sectors. Composed of 10 towers each, these sectors are not vital to the virtual world. Surface sectors can be destroyed by Aelita from the second floor of a way tower. Moreover, these territories are the only ones to have this type of towers that connect the various surface sectors together.

Main Territory

Each virtual world has a main territory, whose name, shown in the "Virtual Envelope" window, refers to an ancient Greek city. This sector, which can be of any type, is always protected by a password that you will be asked for in a "Virtual Envelope" window. To find the password to a primary sector, study the book of the Punic Wars in your inventory.

  • Lyoko
For Lyoko you can connect/disconnect from the main sector whenever you want with the carthage command.

What actions are unlocked once the interface is connected to the 5th Sector?
  • Replika
In the case of a Replika, the connection to the main territory can only be maintained if the Skidbladnir is on the virtual world. The "Virtual Envelope" window will automatically open when the Skidbladnir enters the Replika, and will close when the submarine leaves it. Connecting the interface will allow you to attach the Skidbladnir to a replika tower.

Materialization codes

The materialization codes of a territory allow the virtualization and the devirtualization of lyoko warriors from this territory. Any character devirtualized from a sector whose materialization codes you do not have will be sent to border. The codes of the Lyoko surface sectors will be systematically recorded in the memory of the Supercomputer.

As for the 5th Lyoko Sector, its materialization codes will be provided to you only if you build the territory yourself. Otherwise you will have to go and collect them yourself on the 5th Sector interface. See the tutorial "Recovering the Maters. Carthage codes" for more information on this procedure. If Skidbladnir is present in a sector, it will then serve as a replacement point. Thus organizing the fact that you have the codes of a sector to transfer characters to it. Moreover, this process will be used for all your transfers to the replika sectors. Finally, note that you can check the availability of the materialization codes for a Lyoko territory using the territory analysis program in the "Link" window.

Accessible places

Lyoko Territory

The 5 territories of Lyoko are all connected to each other via the passage towers and through the main sector of Lyoko. Thus, you can access every location in the virtual world without ever needing to devirtualize and revirtualize the lyoko warriors.

Surface Territory

The 4 surface sectors of Lyoko are of the types Mountain, Desert, Forest and Ice. Located on the outer edge of the virtual world, each of them offers the same travel possibilities.

  • Territory Towers
Surface 10 towers of a sector are accessible both on foot, by overvehicle or with the Skidbladnir.

  • Adjacent Territories
Surface territories, adjacent to a territory, are accessible from the latter"s crossing towers. Thus, tower No. 1 of a surface sector will take you to tower No. 10 of the territory located to the right of the latter while tower No. 10 will take you to tower No. 1 of the territory located to the left of the latter.

  • 5th Territory
The main territory of Lyoko is accessible in 2 different ways: via the carrier for the lyoko warriors or via the data tunnel connecting the surface territory to the 5th Territory for the Skidbladnir.

  • Digital Sea
You can get out of Lyoko by diving into the Digital Sea of a surface sector with the Skidbladnir.

Main Territory

The main territory of Lyoko is of the 5th Territory type. Composed of several rooms located at various locations in its core zone, some places in this sector can only be reached with an overvehicle for lyoko warriors. You must connect the interface to the 5th Territory using the [carthage] command in order to be able to open the map of the territory in the "Virtual Map" and access all the sub-programs of this territory.

  • Arena
Reception room for the 5th sector, the Arena is the place of departure and arrival of the carrier. It is also to this room that all virtualizations intended for the 5th Sector are redirected. Finally, note that a character using the carrier from this room will be transported randomly to the edge of one of the available surface sectors. The Arena will also be the only room in the territory that is accessible until you solve the labyrinth of the 5th Territory

  • Labyrinth
The maze blocks access to all rooms in the 5th Territory until it is deactivated by a lyoko warrior. By default not built with the 5th Territory, you can add the maze with the build.maze command when configuring the territory. Finally, the "Sensors of the 5e Territory" window will be useful for guiding your lyoko warriors through the labyrinth zone, while the "Chrono Clef" window will show you how much time is left to find the labyrinth key. See the tutorial "Solving the 5th Territory Labyrinth" to learn more about this procedure.

  • Tower Room
As the name suggests, the Tower Room contains the unique tower of the 5th Sector. Located beyond the labyrinth, you must first deactivate it to be able to access this room.

  • GaragesKid
Located at the North Pole of the core zone, GarageSkid is a room specially designed by Jérémie and Aelita to store Skidbladnir. This room has 5 boarding posts for boarding the submarine, as well as 4 anchors used to generate the docking shield protecting the Skidbladnir when docked. The GarageSkid is an additional room that you can create after building the 5th Sector. Consult the tutorial "Building the GarageSkid" for more information on this construction.

  • Heart Room
Located just above the Arena, this room contains the Heart of Lyoko, the most vital virtual object in the world created by Franz Hopper. Because of the importance of the virtual object it contains, access to this room can only be done by overvehicle from an airlock located at the south pole of the core zone Although this is not the case in the series, you can access the Arena directly from the heart room thanks to a teleporter that can be used from the `"Actions" tab of the "Com. Card" of a lyoko warrior.

  • Bridge
The 5th Bridge Territory is the only access that allows you to leave the core zone, thus giving access to the Celestial Vault, a hollow area located between the core and the outer crust of the sector. From this platform, overvehicles can be materialized. In addition, it is at the end of this bridge that the 5th Sector interface is located, offering direct access to the memory of XANA.

  • South Pole
Corresponding to the entrance of the access door to the heart of Lyoko room, the South Pole is accessible only by overvehicle through the lyoko warriors. Use the "Enter Heart" action from the `"Actions" tab of the "Com. Carte" of the lyoko warriors to ask them to borrow the lock.

  • Data Tunnel
The 4 data tunnels visible in the Sky Vault connect Tower No. 1 of each surface territory to the 5th Sector. You can deactivate these tunnels using the [Tunnel] command so that the lyoko warriors or the Skidbladnir can leave the 5th Sector. Use the "Enter Tunnel" action from the `"Actions" tab of the "Com. Map" of the lyoko warriors to ask them to use the tunnel.

  • Digital Void
The Digital Void is a place located above the Digital Sea just in front of the Heavenly Vault bridge.

Replika Territory

The unique territory of a [Replika](74 #virtualWorld_replika) is always a main territory that can be of any type and has 2 towers.

Tower of replika

The 2 towers of a Replika are accessible on foot or via an overvehicle for a lyoko warrior. The Skidbladnir can also moor there if you are connected to the sector.

Digital Sea

You can get out of a Replika by diving into the Digital Sea with the Skidbladnir.

Virtual Items

The Transporter

The Transporter is an indestructible virtual object unique to Lyoko used to connect the ends of each surface territory to the 5th Territory Arena. He can be called using the command [transp] in order to transfer one or more people. Note that it is impossible to choose the sector where the carrier will drop off characters transferred from the Arena.

The heart of Lyoko

Located at the center of the virtual world of Lyoko, the heart of Lyoko processes all the data collected and transmitted by the passage towers of each surface sector. Being a vital virtual object, if the heart is destroyed, Lyoko disappears entirely with it. Thus, due to its importance and fragility, this object is the only one to natively have two protective shields whose status can be viewed via the "Heart Status" window. These shields will be your only safety valve when XANA attacks the heart with creepers and potentially mantas to destroy the virtual world.

See the tutorial "Defending the Heart of Lyoko" to learn more about this procedure. Finally, note that Lyoko is the only virtual world in the Digital Sea to have a virtual heart, thus allowing it to be a complex virtual world, i.e. a virtual world composed of surface sectors in addition to one main sector.

Towers

The towers are similar virtual objects, computing units, distributed over the different sectors of a virtual world. They process data collected in the Digital Sea and allow, if activated, an entity to interact with the real world. Each tower is unique in terms of its universal ID and its position on the virtual world on which it is located. Although destructible, towers are immortal objects and therefore regenerate automatically after a certain period of time.

You can consult all the information related to a specific tower (identifier, health points, status, etc.) by analysing it with the Superscan. You can also transfer energy to a tower to take control via the energy transmission program. Finally, each tower has an interface allowing the use of certain internal programs at the latter.

The 5th Territory interface

Located at the end of the 5th Lyoko Territory bridge, this interface will be your only way of accessing certain programs specific to [Lyoko](74 #virtualWorld_lyoko). Being a direct access to XANA's memory, the latter will not appreciate it if you connect to it and will therefore try to attack any Lyoko Warrior who approaches him. In addition, this interface has the particularity of preventing command entry into the terminal when a person uses it.

Data recovery

This interface can allow you to retrieve data from the Frontier in order to save a lyoko warrior stuck in the middle of the two worlds or to recover the DNA sequence codes that XANA would have stolen from a character with the Medusa.

Recompilation of overvehicles

Any dematerialized overvehicle has a recompilation time of 15 minutes before you can rematerial them again. The 5th Sector interface thus has a program that allows you to instantly recompile all the overvehicles being recompiled.

Retrieving materialization codes

The materialization codes of the 5th Territory allowing virtualization and direct devirtualization from this territory are retrievable only from the 5th Territory interface.
