The [vmap] command

Description of the 'Virtual Map' window

The 'Virtual Map' window is essential to coordinate all actions of characters on Lyoko such as entering a tower, using the transporteur… But also to elaborate an effective strategy against XANA. Each entity displayed on the map is associated with a symbol and a color. These informations allow to observe the action in real time taking place in the virtual world.

Control of the 'Virtual Map'
Rotation

Hold down the left mouse button, to make the camera rotate on the X, Y and Z axes.

Zoom

Use the mouse wheel to zoom/unzoom on the 'Virtual Map'.

Movement

Hold down the left mouse button and the Ctrl key, to move the camera on the X and Y axes.

Height

Hold down the Ctrl key and use the mouse wheel, to make the camera move up or down.

Attach camera

Click on an entity to attach the camera of the map to it.

Important:

In the Numerical Sea, the camera is locked to the Skidbladnir, it is therefore impossible to move it freely or modify its height.

Show a mini-map

The mini-map of an entity appears when hovering the mouse over it or when the camera is attached to it.

Note:

In some cases, mini-maps can be grouped:

  • When enemies move in a group.
  • When one or several lyoko-warriors are on or in a vehicle.

Representation

Lyoko-warriors are represented by dots on the 'Virtual Map'.

Colors

The color of the lyoko-guide representing a lyoko-warrior varies according to whether the latter is controlled or not by XANA.

Mini-map

Each lyoko-warrior has a unique symbol on his mini-map.

Franz Hopper
Representation

When Franz Hopper leaves the Numerical Sea, he is represented by a white sphere.

Color

The color of the lyoko-guide of Franz Hopper is the white. More generally, any element controlled by Hopper is also of this color.

Monsters
Representation

Common monsters are represented by a split circle with a line, similar to a 'Power' symbol: .

Note:

Only the guardian is represented by a 3D sphere in addition to the common symbol to all monsters on the 'Virtual Map'.

Color

The lyoko-guide of monsters is of red.

Mini-map

Each type of monster has a unique symbol on his mini-map.

Clones
Representation

Clones are represented by a dot on the 'Virtual Map'.

Color

The color of the lyoko-guide of a clone depends on its controller.

  • Yellow
    A clone with a lyoko-guide yellow is a virtual copy created by Aelita with her creation power or by Jérémie with the cloning program.

  • Red
    A clone with a lyoko-guide red is a spectral polymorph created by XANA.

Mini-map

The symbol of the mini-map of a clone varies, depending on whether it is a spectral polymorph or a clone created by your team.

  • Ally clone
    All ally clones have the same symbol on their mini-map.

  • Polymorphic clone
    The polymorphic clones created by XANA copy the symbol of the lyoko-warrior cloned.

Representation
  • Overvehicle
    The Overwing, the Overbike and the Overboard are all represented on the 'Virtual Map' by a triangle ▲.

  • Skidbladnir
    The Skidbladnir as well as its navskids are represented by a 3D model in wireframe on the 'Virtual Map'.

Color

The lyoko-guide of vehicles is of blue.

Mini-map

Each type of vehicle has a unique symbol on its mini-map.

Towers
Representation

The towers are represented by a wireframe 3D model on the 'Virtual Map'.

Color

The color of a tower depends on its state.

  • Blue
    A blue tower is deactivated, that is to say controlled by no entity.

  • Red
    A red tower is activated for the benefit of XANA.

  • Green
    A green tower is activated for the benefit of Jérémie.

    Note:

    When a green tower flashes in red, it means that XANA is trying to regain control of this last one by injecting energy into it.

  • White
    A white tower is activated for Franz Hopper.

  • Grey
    A grey tower is grey if it is destroyed[color]. It no longer physically exists on the territory where it is located.

Mini-map

The mini-maps of the towers indicate their number on the territory where they are located.

Tower
Attack of a tower

When a tower is attacked by monsters, cylindrical red pulses appear around it at each laser impact. This effect also applies to the attacking monsters.

Regeneration of a tower

When a tower is destroyed, an effect of blue bolts travels through the virtual object indicating that its regeneration process is in progress.

Attack of the heart of Lyoko

When the heart of Lyoko is attacked, explosions red appear at each laser impact.

Destruction of a protection barrier

When a protection barrier of the heart of Lyoko is destroyed, the room of the heart emits red waves.

When the heart of Lyoko regenerates, a green sparkling effect appears around the sphere.

Skidbladnir
Attack of rampants or mantas

When the Skidbladnir is attacked by rampants or mantas, explosions red appear on the submarine at each laser impact.

Attack of the Medusa

If the Medusa attacks the submarine virtual by draining its energy, a purple spiral effect appears around the Skidbladnir.

Arrimage to a tower

When the Skidbladnir is attached to a tower, a drainage effect composed of pink particles appears between the submarine and the tower.

Other effects
Combat zone

The combat zones are represented by yellow circles of particles. Any monster or lyoko-warrior entering this circle is drawn into the fight.

Construction and destruction of a territory

The construction and destruction of a territory are visible from the 'Virtual Map'.

Fall into the Numerical Sea

When a monster or a lyoko-warrior falls into the Numerical Sea, a white beam of light shoots from the place where it fell.

'NoVirt' zone

The 'NoVirt' zones are represented by a red striped circle. These zones form around the towers activated by XANA and the Medusa if she has captured a lyoko-warrior.

Initialization

Opens the 'Virtual Map' window.

Note:

  • The name of the window adapts automatically to the territory or the virtual location displayed.
  • The 'Virtual Map' window opens automatically when a location is launched.

Localization

The 'Virtual Map' can locate any entity, place or virtual object.

Important:

The interface must be connected to the main territory of a virtual world to be able to locate an element located on it.

  • Localization of precise coordinates of a territory.

    Note:

    • If only the name of the territory is entered, the localization takes place at the coordinates (0 ; 0).
    • If the 'Virtual Map' is already open on a territory, the command vmap.<CrdX>.<CrdY> moves the camera to the coordinates entered.

The window 'Tower Access Information' contains the links between the different passage towers as well as the code Way TowerAccess of each surface territory.
