The [smap] command

Description of the 'Digital Sea Map'

The Digital Sea map automatically records the position of every hub or virtual world detected by the Skidbladnir’s sonar. The more you explore the Digital Ocean, the more complete your map of it becomes.

Smap.001
Object Detector
Object Detector

The object detector counts and highlights on the map either the hubs or virtual worlds found in the Digital Sea.

  • Detected Object
The 3D model displayed in the top-left corner of the window indicates the type of object currently set on the detector. By default, the detector is set to virtual worlds. Click on the 3D model to change the object targeted by the detector. Hover over the 3D model to highlight the type of object (virtual world or hub) currently configured on the detector.

  • Object Counter
The object counter located below the 3D model shows the number of objects currently configured on the detector that have been recorded on the 'Digital Sea Map'.

Identifier & Coordinates

At the center-right of the window, you will find the 'Identifier' and 'Coordinates' fields. This data allows you to configure virtual routes with the Digital Sea hubs.

  • Identifier
The 'Identifier' field displays the identifier of the hub or virtual world that you are hovering over with your mouse on the map.

  • Coordinates
The 'Coordinates' field shows the (x; y) coordinates of the cursor on the map. Clicking on the map pins the cursor and locks the coordinates.

Digital Ocean Map
Mini Map

In the bottom-left corner of the window is the mini map. It allows you to control the display of the central map. The Digital Sea map is divided into 9 regions that you can zoom into to better track activity.

  • Display by Region
Useful when manually navigating with the Skidbladnir. Click on one of the regions from the global display to zoom into that region. By default, the map opens zoomed into the central region.

    Smap-rattrapage-1
A sound plays each time you zoom in or out on the map
  • Global Display
Useful when configuring a virtual route with a hub. Click on the mini map when the map is zoomed into a region to return to the global display.

    Smap-rattrapage-2
The regions shown on the main map are slightly larger than those displayed on the mini map
Main Map

The main map is centered on Lyoko, as it is located at the (0; 0) coordinates of the Digital Sea. All other elements on the map are placed randomly when the game loads.

  • Hub
Hubs are represented on the map by [blue]{blue} symbols [/blue]. Serving as teleporters between them, the 220 hubs of the Digital Sea allow you to explore every part of the Digital Ocean.

  • Virtual World
Virtual worlds are represented on the map by [green]{green} and [orange]{orange} symbols .

  • Skidbladnir
If it is in the Digital Sea, the Skidbladnir is represented by a [light blue]{blue} arrow pointing in the direction it is heading.

    • Virtual Map Display Distance
The outer circle surrounding the [light blue]{blue} arrow represents the maximum distance of the area displayed in the 'Virtual Map'.

    • Sonar Coverage
The inner circle surrounding the [light blue]{blue} arrow represents the distance covered by the Skidbladnir’s sonar. When a hub or virtual world enters this zone, its position is automatically recorded on the 'Digital Sea Map' if the window is open.

  • Virtual Route
A configured virtual route is displayed in [blue]{blue} on the main map of the Digital Sea.

  • Map Boundary
The Digital Sea is an infinite virtual space. The Skidbladnir can therefore exit the area covered by the main map. If this happens, a message appears at the bottom of the map indicating that the virtual submarine is outside the mapped area. Note that no hubs or virtual worlds exist outside the map.

Replikas Information
Replikas Census

Clicking on the arabesque to the right of the window displays 2 lists recording the replikas. Each detected replika is listed with its unique virtual world identifier, as well as the abbreviation of the country where the supercomputer generating the virtual world is located.

  • Found Replikas
The left list records all undestroyed replikas detected in the Digital Sea.

  • Destroyed Replikas
The right list archives all destroyed replikas.

Sub-commands related to the [smap] command

Initialization

Opens the 'Digital Sea Map' window.

smap
Smap.002
When initialized, the window is zoomed into the central area of the Digital Sea
Configuring a virtual route

Calculates a virtual route from the hub closest to the Skidbladnir to the chosen destination. The destination of a virtual route can be defined in several ways.

Note:

The Skidbladnir must be aligned with a hub for the program to detect it and use it as the starting point for a virtual route.

  • Using the identifier of a hub or virtual world.

    smap.route.<id>

    Smap.004
The pre-loaded route is displayed in blue on the 'Digital Sea Map'
  • Using coordinates (x; y).

    smap.route.<CrdX>.<CrdY>

    Smap.003
A sound plays when a route is calculated
Resetting a route

Removes a pre-calculated virtual route.

smap.route.reset
Smap.006
If a route is pre-calculated, the arabesque to the right of the window discharges
Importing Hyperscan data

Imports the coordinates of the last replika found by the Hyperscan and records them on the map.

Note:

The Hyperscan must also be open for the transfer to take place.

smap.hyperscan
Smap.005
A loading bar indicates the percentage of progress for the transfer
