Cycle 4.8.X is the first cycle in the game history to have added 2 new chapters in the story mode. First of all, chapter 7: 'His and Her Circumstances', got released at the same time as the cycle release, then chapter 8: 'The Frontier Express', got added in version 4.8.6.

It is also in this cycle that XANA can teleport his XANA warriors to his replika factories for the first time. With this, the full procedure to save permanent xanafied lyoko warriors got added, alongside the addition of the liberator program.

This cycle brings a complete rework of the DNA problems system, with the possibility for players to choose, in the game options, the DNA problems that can occur in their free mode game.

A first playable demo of cycle 4.8.X was available to the public during April 4th and 5th, 2025, during the Hauts-de-Seine Digital Game. Note that this festival happened at "La Seine Musicale", a performance hall built on "l'Île Seguin", the old place of the Renault factory that served as model to the abandoned factory in the show. Thus, in this legendary place, players got a preview and tested the procedure to save permanent xanafied lyoko warriors in the IFSCL booth.

Finally, the IFSCL booth returned on May 2nd and 3rd, 2026, during the 404 ConFound organized by the school Epitech Strasbourg. On this occasion, players had the opportunity to discover the first half of chapter 8.
